LISD Academic Advocates

1. Call to order and Pledge. President Elizabeth Frey called the meeting to order at 7:05 and those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.

2. Minutes & Correspondence. Minutes of the October 30 meeting were approved as read.

3. Treasurer's report & budget. There was no Treasurer's report.

4. Speaker: Alicia Russell, LISD Advanced Programs. Alicia described progress on various district initiatives with respect to advanced programs and Quest. Areas covered included formation of an advanced curriculum alignment team, implmentaion of middle school differentiation training, requirement that all Advanced/AP/IB faculty have 30 hours Gifted/Talented training and annual 6 hour update, and information about changes in the enrollment process for Advanced classes. 5. Announcements. Alicia Russell mentioned that information nights on the International Baccalaureate (IB) program and Advanced Programs would be held in January. We agreed to post this information on our website.
