ACADEMIC ADVOCATES GOALS for 2000-2001 

Ongoing, Long-Term Goals based on the Mission Statement:

Require challenging curricula at all levels:

  • Develop curriculum guides for increasing challenge for all  students

  •  Math -  Research/library skills

  • Reading - Foreign language in elementary (Add to PE wheel somehow)

  • Science - Electives (MS and HS)

  • More AP and IB

  • Better student identification/assessment

  • Use data to plan instruction

  • Appropriate ability grouping, especially in elementary math and reading

  • Appropriate and challenging homework

  • Self-paced classes or projects
